The Friends of the Delafield Library will gladly take your gently used books and media to sell at the Friends Used Bookstore (421 Main St).

We cannot accept
- Encyclopedia sets
- Textbooks
- Manuals
- Catalogs
- Yearbooks
- Puzzle books
- Discards from other libraries
- Reader’s Digest or other condensed books
- Books over 3 years old if they are
- Computer or medical books
- Travel books or maps
- Items in poor condition
- Mold or a musty/smoky odor
- Yellowed pages
- Missing pages or parts
- Torn pages or covers
- Pen, pencil, or highlighter markings
- Outdated media formats such as
- Cassette or VHS tapes
- CD-ROMs or floppy discs
How to Donate
- Preferred
- Place items in blue drop box outside the Friends Used Bookstore at 421 Main Street, located behind the Delafield Promotion and Tourism building, in front of the Fish Hatchery (see map and photos below)
- Available 24 hours a day!
- For large donations (several boxes or bags of material, too much to fit in the drop box)
- Drop off during Friends book sale days (1st and 3rd Saturday of each month)
- Or make arrangements with a Friend

- For small donations and all magazines (less than a paper grocery bag full)
- You may drop them off at the library front desk
- Other guidelines
- Donation receipts for tax purposes are available upon request
- Materials donated to the library cannot be accepted on a conditional basis
- Items not added to the collection cannot be returned to the donor
- All containers become the property of the library
