The Sunshine Sisters by Jane Green

Although she is one of my personal favorite authors, I am left feeling conflicted about Jane Green’s new offering, “The Sunshine Sisters.” I started reading it and was instantly nearly repelled by the tale of Ronni Sunshine, B movie actress, unlikable narcissist, and horrible mother to three daughters. Once I pressed on, however, I found myself riveted by the tale of those three grown daughters–Nell, Meredith, and Lizzy–and how they each come to terms with their relationship with their mother in her last days. The ending, though, left a bit to be desired and wrapped everything up too quickly in a nice, neat bow. Regardless, I would recommend this to others in need of a quick beach read.
