The Great Treehouse War by Lisa Graff

This book is a gem. 10 year old Winnie is stuck between her two divorced parents and it has about caused her to fail the 5th grade. So Winnie, along with her group of friends stage an epic showdown of treehouse proportions.

This book was the perfect book for my daughter and I to read together as a family. Themes of family, friends, kindness, togetherness, and self reliance; adorable illustrations; and creative storytelling all make this chapter book a fun way to discuss difficult topics like divorce in a child appropriate way.

My daughter was so taken with this book that she’s already begging for more from this fantastic author. And it’s a book that parents can read without getting bored or annoyed. (You parents know what I mean!)

Happy Reading!
