Love in the Time of Kahlua
1 ounce light rum
1/2 ounce coffee liqueur
2 ounces light cream
Ground cinnamon or nutmeg, to taste
Combine the rum and coffee liqueur over ice in a rocks glass. Pour the cream on top and sprinkle a little spice.
Romeo and Julep
6 sprigs fresh mint, washed
1 teaspoon light brown sugar
1/2 ounce peach schnapps
1 1/2 ounces bourbon
1 (12-ounce) can lemon-lime soda
In a highball glass, muddle the mint, sugar, and schnapps until the sugar dissolves. Add ice and bourbon, and fill to the top with the lemon-lime soda.
Are You There God? It’s Me, Margarita
Coarse salt, for cocktail rim
1 1/2 ounces tequila
1 ounce lime juice
1/2 ounce triple sec
1 lime wedge, for garnish
Rim a cup in coarse salt and set aside. Dump all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake well and strain over fresh ice into the salted cup. Garnish with a lime wedge.
Orange Julius Caesar
3 ounces orange juice
2 ounces milk
1 1/2 ounces light rum
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
Put all ingredients, plus a handful of ice, into a blender.
Heart of Dark Mist
1 1/2 ounces blackberry liqueur
1/2 ounce gin
1/2 ounce lemon juice
Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
