Prez answers the door at his “summer families” house and in walks Sputnik that everyone else sees as a dog. Now not only does Prez have to figure out how to fit in, he has a whole list of things to figure out this summer, Luckily lists are his favorite thing and his next list has to save earth! This story surprised me on its multilayered approach to a sensitive subject of a guardian having memory issues. It was full of poignant moments that made me stop weeks later to think about them and also full of humor that had me laughing out loud when Sputnik was insistent on reading the instructions and finding out a TV remote could pause a show or a burglar. Although intended for ages 9-12, I would recommend this book for not only teens but also adults or as a read aloud book.
