Scooby Apocalypse Volume 1 by Keith Griffin, J.M. DeMatteis, Howard Porter

Reviewed by Jess H (Library Staff)

Scooby Apocalypse is an alternate universe Scooby story. The gang never met as high schoolers or kids, this time around, they’re adults running into each other on coincidence. Velma is a mad-scientist type genius who works at a facility called The Complex. Shaggy got a job at The Complex training dogs in their Smart-Dog program, where he met Scooby. Daphne hosts a low rated monster show on the knitting channel and Fred is her camera man.
The art is the best thing about this comic. The beloved Scooby gang still feels and looks like themselves and the new post-apocalyptic, monster filled near-future feels believable and lived in. Scooby Apocalypse’s monsters are striking and threatening making this fun read exciting as well.
