Mr. Churchill’s Secretary is the first book in a series that follows Maggie Hope, an intelligent young lady with amazing codebreaking skills that rival even the men with the highest clearance in the government. In 1940, Maggie takes a job working as a typist for the new Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. But while working for Mr. Churchill, Maggie stumbles upon a mystery, and while trying to solve the mystery, secrets about her family come to the surface. The mystery is so important, that if it is not solved, the world might never be the same.

This book has been on my to-be-read shelf for far too long, so when I finally picked it up, I had high expectations. And I can’t wait to read the next book, so my expectations were definitely met. Maggie is such a likable character, full of personality and spunk and willing to keep going no matter the circumstances. This book had it all, mystery, suspense, history, and even a tiny bit of romance. And everything worked so well together to create a wonderful book. Luckily, there are plenty more in the series to continue reading!
