Graphic Novels are much more than just superheroes. When delivered by an excellent storyteller, a graphic novel can transport you into the lives of real people facing life altering challenges. Such is the case with Mom’s Cancer by writer and illustrator Brian Fies. It follows the harrowing story of his mom’s diagnosis with brain and lung cancer and the agonizing months after. Fies’ empathetic writing and compelling story propel you quickly through the story. Hanging over the story is the unanswered question: will Mom live? Beautifully rendered, Mom’s Cancer will resonate with you long after the last page.
