Louisiana’s Way Home is the second book in DiCamillo’s Raymie Nightingale series, and continues the story of one of the three girls who found their way to a friendship when they met in the Little Miss Central Florida Tire Competition. Things were difficult for the three girls, each needing to prove something to herself, and as we continue the saga, we read about Louisiana’s current struggle. Louisiana’s Granny has decided to outrun a curse and flee from Florida whisking her away from home and friends forever. As with all of Kate DiCamillo’s books, this one has a fair amount of sadness woven into her tale, but some brilliantly gentle heart touching moments, as well. You’ll cheer for Louisiana to overcome the roadblocks to her happiness, and find peace with whatever comes next.
