This is a strange little book in a long line of strange little Shaun Tan books. Always thought-provoking, always more than a little bizarre, I am continually drawn to Tan’s body of work.
Cicada was extra thought-provoking for me, though, and I’ve been forcing my friends, family and co-workers to read it and discuss their interpretation of it with me. It takes less than 3 minutes to read this picture book but I’ve thought about it every day since I read it.
I need to know–what do YOU think happened at the end??
