This book was very well written. The author has a commanding use of words and descriptions. Readers are able to feel what it’s like to be on an immigration journey that was caused by a tragic event. The main characters, Lydia and Luca, become real to readers. As their journey progresses they encounter many challenges and twists. Other characters enter the story and become memorable as well. After reading this book readers will have a better understanding of the grit, determination, and necessity of some migrant circumstances.
