The filing deadline for federal income tax returns is Tuesday, April 17, 2012 (due to a holiday in the District of Columbia).
The filing deadline for Wissonsin income tax returns is Tuesday, April 17, 2012.
Earlier this year, the IRS advised that some taxpayers needed to wait to file their tax returns in order to give the IRS time to reprogram its processing systems to accommodate tax law changes enacted by Congress and signed by the President in December. Those affected included taxpayers who file Schedule A, those claiming the Higher Education Tuition and Fees Deduction and those claiming the Educator Expense Deduction.
