This is the place to be when you are looking for ready-to-use booktalks, lists of recommended reading, book reviews by children or other information about children's literature.

Great books for Grades 5-8 Cindy Mitchell, a school librarian from South Jourdan, Utah, has created a tool for kids, parents, teachers, and librarians to use. We can view the lists of books that the teachers and students have recommended and reviewed. Check out Cindy M's reading lists!
Anchorage Municipal Libraries Fantastic historical fiction list. Extensive list of picture book themes.
Bookhive Your guide to children's literature and books. Comments from readers; parental notes; "If you liked" lists.
Award Winning Children's Literature Database site that lets you customize reading lists to age level reader, genre, etc. Covers over 40 awards in English speaking countries
Highland Park Public Library Some useful lists: "Character Matters," bullies; graded and age level lists.
Monroe County Public Library Wonderful lists: Predictable Books; Social skills; Extensive lists of books in series.
Morton Grove Public Library Up-to-date lists. Interesting lists: Intolerance and the Holocaust; Buried Treasures; Times Gone By.
Multnomah County Library Up-to-date lists. Some contain pathfinders; Can limit some by age/grade level. Useful lists: Reading Up; Booked for Book Discussion; Understanding Sex & Sexuality.

A new children's books web site, Read the Books, is now available to you and your children, in the library or from home. It features browse searching by author, grade level, time period, geographic location, series, and more. It also has reviews, ratings, and audio.

You can simply click on the logo to the left to access Read the Books, and you can bookmark it as well if you wish (you do not have to access it through our catalog or home page).
