Applying for a Library Card
- Residents who are 18 and over can request a library card. Come to the circulation desk with proof of residency (e.g.: driver's license, phone bill, rent receipt, etc.) and apply.
- Youngsters under 18 can apply for a card with their parents' or guardians' permission and signature.
- Your Delafield Public Library card is honored at any CAFE library in Waukesha County.

Fines
- All loans are free of charge.
- If your materials are overdue you will be charged $.10 per day.
- Except for DVDs and VHS tapes which are fined at $.50 per day.
- Interlibrary Loans are fined at $1.00 per day.
- We allow for a two-day grace on items checked out at Delafield.

Fees
- Fees are charged because of damage or loss to items checked out.
- Parents and guardians are reponsible for all items checked out by their minor children.
- Please ask at the circulation desk for the fee schedule.
- *A service charge of
$10.00 will be added to your overdue account if it is sent to the Unique Management Service for collection.

The Delafield Public Library has established a new materials recovery program
to encourage library patrons to return books and other materials on time. |
What happens when items are due:
- 14 PAST DUE
The library sends you an overdue notice.
- 28 DAYS PAST DUE
The library sends you a second overdue notice that includes fines and
replacement charges.
- 45 DAYS PAST DUE
Items are sent to the assumed lost status and the patron's account
is billed with the replacement cost of the items.
- 60 DAYS PAST DUE
Accounts will be sent to Unique Management Services. A service charge of
$10.00 will be added to your account. Unique Management Services will
contact you to request the return of the overdue materials and payment
of all outstanding charges
- After 120 Days Past Due
The collection agency will make multiple attempts to contact you.
If you do not return the overdue materials and complete or establish
a payment plan, your account will proceed to the next stage listed below.
- 180 DAYS PAST DUE
Unique Management Services reports your overdue account to a
credit reporting agency which may affect your credit rating
for up to seven years.

Renewals
- You may renew library materials for the length of the original loan,
- Except for those items that have been reserved for other patrons and for DVD Rentals.
- Please renew using the online catalog and My Account Button at
http://www.delafieldlibrary.org
- Or by calling us at
262-646-6230.

Reserves
- If you would like an item from the library collection that is already out on loan, we can place a hold on the item or select Catalog to place a hold on the item via your home computer.
- You will need to log in with your library card number &
PIN number (your birthday ~ i.e., 01/01/1960).
- The library will email or call when it is ready for pick up.

Interlibrary Loan
- Should you want material that is not available from the CAFE library system, we can try to obtain it for you from another library outside our district.
- Assuming availability, we will contact you when it arrives.

Computer Access
- Four Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) computers
- Five public computers that have internet access and have Microsoft Word, Excel , Publisher and Power Point installed.
- Printing is available (black/white & color)

Interent Use:
- Internet computers can be accessed durings open business hours.
- Sessions end 15 minutes before closing.
- Please log on to our Internet stations using a valid CAFE library card.
Parents of minor children:
- Parents or legal guardians of minor children are solely responsible for the Internet use and behavior of the children in their care.
- The Library cannot assume this responsibility.
- Children under the age of 18 to acquire written permission from their parents or guardians and must have their library cards to log on.

Wi-Fi Connections at Delafields
- Free wireless Internet access is now available at
the Delafield Public Library.
- Just bring your laptop or
other device with a wireless network adaptor to the library and
we can help you get started.
